One of Nigeria’s leading airline Dana Air has announced that that it would partner with the federal government of Nigeria to host the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) – World Aviation Forum (IWAF) scheduled to start today and end on Wednesday in Abuja.
The Forum with the theme: ‘’Financing the Development of Aviation Infrastructure’’ would explore the benefits of the aviation sector to the social, economic development and prosperity of member states and to identify needs and facilitate funding and financing required to accelerate the implementation of the international civil aviation global standards and policies as well as plans for aviation.
Speaking on the partnership, the Accountable Manager of Dana Air, Mr Obi Mbanuzuo said, “Dana Air is committed to everything that is geared towards improving the aviation sector and this forum, being the first in over 50 years of ICAO is a rare privilege.’’
“We commend the efforts of the regulators and the Ministry of Aviation for this feat and we hope that we will have more of such in the nearest future, as there is an urgent need for us to work together towards improving the sector.’’
As airline partner, Dana Air said it would be offering logistic support to delegates flying from within Nigeria to the summit and back
The airline, which recently bagged its International Air transport Association (IATA) certification with a commitment to maintaining global best practices and providing the best of air transport services in the country, said the support to IWAF is its contribution to the event, which historically is taking place in Nigeria.
