Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) invaded and interrogated senior officials of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA); locked these officials in their offices and barred anybody from having access to these offices.
As at 5:30 pm on Friday EFCC officials were still in the office of the General Manager, Procurement, scrutinising documents and carrying out interrogations.
Safeflight learnt that EFCC officials arrived the agency’s headquarters about 1:00 pm and continued to search for documents and asking questions on the activities of critical staff of the agency NAMA beyond 5:30 pm.
Informed source said the officials quizzed include the NAMA Managing Director, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, the General Manager, Procurement, Olumuyiwa Adegorite and the General Manager, Finance, Nurudeen Segun Agbolade.
It is yet to be confirmed if EFCC officials acted out of tip-off or a deliberate plan to carry out comprehensive investigation on the activities of aviation agencies, starting with NAMA; however, authoritative source said the Commission’s officials came with a petition.
Although there was no official statement from NAMA to confirm EFCC presence in the agency, but workers who witnessed it when the officials of the anti-graft agency gained access to the NAMA headquarters confirmed their visit.
