FAAN Christian Fellowship Fetes Less Privileged

The Aviation Christian Fellowship International, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, Headquarters has put smiles on the faces of children of the Little Saints Orphanage, Ogudu, GRA in Lagos as they made donations of food items, toiletries and cash to the orphanage.

Some of the items donated included among others, bags of rice, beans, cartons of noodles, biscuits, yams, dettol antiseptic, soaps and liquids, tissue and an undisclosed amount of cash.

On arrival at  the orphanage, members of the fellowship were received by the elated children and matron in charge, Mrs. Akintilo Aramide.

Mrs. Aramide told her August visitors that the orphanage is an all girls orphanage and currently had 24 girls with the youngest, a baby of 7 months abandoned when she was 2 days old.

“we have a baby of 7 months, 1age 3, age 11-13, we have 3 of them and age 17 and above we have 19. The little was brought in when it was 2 days ago abandoned by the mother and picked up by someone, 3 of our girls are married and left, we have those working that is why you have few around, those who are here now are on mid-term break, they all go to school. One of our girls is dumb and we need assistance to be able to meet her needs as regards her education. This orphanage was founded by Rev. Mrs. Dele George”

The matron thanked the fellowship for the donations and called on other well- meaning Nigerians and organizations to also give the children assistance in a similar way.

The children also expressed appreciation for the gesture, prayed that God would continue to bless each and everyone of the members of the fellowship for having them in mind.

Coordination of the fellowship, Mr. Sola Adeyemi said was in fulfillment of the vision of the fellowship, giving back to the society what God had blessed them with.

“Aviation fellowship international had a vision and one of our vision is to reach to God’s  heritage, God’s children, widows, the less privileged and that is what we are doing, so we are fulfilling the scriptures in our day and that is what Jesus urge us to do, and we thank God that we are His outstretch arm for what we have done and we know little saints orphanage will never remain the same”.

A member of the fellowship, Mr. Eta Neji appealed to other well- meaning organizations, fellowship and individuals to practice giving especially the orphans, widows and the less privileged.

“Giving is a very important key for us to be able to move forward, as God’s word says that, it is better to give than to receive, that it is more blessed to give than to receive, so, I advice us that we most continue to give, give and give because as you give, you are going to get in return”.

Before leaving, members of the fellowship prayed with the children and signed the visitors register.
