The federal government has airlifted helicopter services from Kaduna and Minna airport to Abuja, as a way of easy movement from Kaduna to Abuja.
The office of the National Security Adviser, which earlier clamped down the services after Bristow had made elaborate preparations to be airlifting passengers with helicopter shuttle services between Abuja and Minna.
The sudden restriction came up immediately after the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari from London, igniting reports that NSA might have acted on his directive.
James Odaudu, Deputy Director, Press and Public Affairs, Ministry of Aviation, said in a statement that with the lifting, operations of the helicopter services resume immediately.
It will be recalled that the NSA’s office had cited security considerations for the restriction on the shuttles, but the Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika, had promised to take up the matter with the office for a workable arrangement.
Meanwhile, the bus shuttles and the train services have continued to enjoy the patronage of air passengers who have been commending the government arrangements to minimise the inconvenience caused by the closure of the Abuja airport.
