FG Gives Approval to Quits Aviation as Private Jet Terminal

Quits Aviation Facility, Lagos

The federal government has given approval to Quits Aviation Services Nigeria Limited as the only terminal for Business Aviation in Lagos.

The approval was given to the facility after meeting international standards for Business Aviation Services.

Quits Aviation is the authorised service centre for five business jet manufacturers like Bombardier, Dassault, Textron Beechcraft, Embraer, Honeywell Avionics and Rockwell Collins and it carries out maintenance on these aircraft types up to D-check level.

Chairman of the company, Sam Iwuajoku said the terminal is one of the best in Africa, only compared with similar facility in South Africa and it has Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) certification for business jets. It is also registered with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and other Civil Aviation Authorities in the world.

By the approval of Quits Aviation Services Nigeria Limited as business jet terminal, the facility now hosts all the security apparatus at the airport for passenger and cargo checks.

The facility has Immigration, Customs, Aviation Security, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) officials and also other security operatives like the State Security Services (SSS) so it carries out all the security checks on business jets and air ambulances that pass through the Lagos airport.

“So every business jet that comes to the airport must go through Quits Aviation for security checks, first Immigration and then others both inbound and outbound flights.

“The facility has everything that is required for Business Aviation and we have just built a new facility with the state-of-the art equipment and comprehensive security system that can only be found here in the whole Africa. We have concluded plans to link up the Control Tower to the terminal, so we are going to provide office for the Nigeria Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), we will also provide them the equipment so that they will operate from here. This is to enable pilots for Business Aviation jets to file their flight plan without the current delays they experience in doing that at the international terminals,” Iwuajoku said.

“This terminal also has free zone status and with the new extension, it is the best terminal for Business Aviation in Africa,” Iwuajoku added.
