The United States of America has deported 41 Nigerian and these include those who did not have the right documentation to stay in the country and others for various offences.
This came less than a week after 162 Nigerians voluntarily returned from Libya to the country after unsuccessful efforts to cross to Europe and others who were caught in by the war that erupted in that country few years ago.
The deportees from the US were brought back to the country through Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos, an action which many at the airport described as rare because United States do not deport Nigerians as frequently as European countries.
But informed source said most of the deportees were returned to the country for criminal offences.
All the 41 deportees were males.
The aircraft that brought back the deportees, Miami Air International with the registration number N733MA, touched down at the airport at exactly 12:20 local time.
Nine of the deportees were repatriated into Nigeria for drug related offence, 26 for police case while the other six were returned for immigration offences.
As at the time of filing this report, those with criminal offences were still being held by the respective agencies while those with immigration offences were released to go to their various destinations after going through profiling by the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS).
